the day after. . . .

The day after Luther's play date with dog-pal Rocket he isn't doing so well.

He binged on running, leaping, tugging, wrassling, digging, biting, chasing, tackling, and took no rest. Did I mention running?

Poor guy.

He's laid low on his dog bed. And calling Rocket bad names for tempting him to overindulgence. No, he's not really enjoying the fire. He's merely tolerating it. Which you can see if you look into his eyes.Poor guy.

Is he sore or just tired and missing Rocket? (Cheryl's Rocket?)

When we lived in Washington, we vacationed several times in Cannon Beach, Oregon. We would take Lucy, our labrador. For DAYS after we got home, she would sleep, mope about and just be generally pitiful. We called it CBWS - Cannon Beach Withdrawal Syndrome.

Hope Luther is up and at 'em soon.

And so while we thought Dog-Rocket's day with Luther would tire him out, Rocket has been hyped up today and ready for more. Personally, I think Luther is his own particular brand of doggy-heroine and Rocket likes it!

*update*: Luther's up and around again (although currently in the same position as pictured yesterday) and apparently suffering no further ill effects. Jennifer, I don't think he was missing Rocket, I think he was stiff and sore as all get out! Not to mention dinged, bruised and footsore. . . .

I'm sorry to hear that Dog-Rocket didn't slow down one iota, but in fact notched it up a level! And selfishly, I hope that won't affect future invites for Luther to come over and get worn out by a perpetual motion machine in a blonde dog suit.
